Job Description
Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading principal contractor to recruit a Planning Manager on a 12 month minimum contract for its North London site.
The Planning Manager role comes with a day rate of £450.00 per day.
Key skills
Lead the planning and scheduling function for the project, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and project objectives.
Develop, manage, and control the master project schedule using Primavera P6 (or equivalent software).
Provide strategic planning oversight, identifying risks, mitigation strategies, and opportunities for schedule improvement.
Work closely with the Project Director, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to ensure efficient coordination.
Lead the progress reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis, providing clear insights to senior management and stakeholders.
Manage and mentor a team of Planning Engineers, ensuring best practices in project controls.
Ensure integration of subcontractor schedules into the overall project plan.
Support the claims and variation process, offering detailed planning data and impact analysis.
Conduct critical path analysis and proactively manage potential delays.
Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, company procedures, and contract obligations (e.g., NEC, FIDIC).
Must have extensive experience as a Planning Manager / Senior Planning Engineer with a principal contractor in a construction environment.
