About the Role One of our clients are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to support a high-profile SSE substation project in Augustus, Scotland. This is a critical role requiring a strategic thinker with deep expertise in construction planning and scheduling, capable of leading planning efforts on complex infrastructure projects. Set up: - Location is Augustus, Scotland - 6-Month Initial Contract - Inside IR35 - Fully site-based role Key Responsibilities * Strategic Planning & Scheduling: Lead planning across multiple project phases, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and optimal resource allocation. * Best Practice Implementation: Champion and embed planning best practices across the project lifecycle. * Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance and support to the planning team, fostering development and ensuring successful project delivery. * Scope & Contract Analysis: Identify planning scope, constraints, and key contractual requirements. * Tender Strategy: Develop efficient design, procurement, and construction strategies to support successful tendering. * Programme Development: Oversee the creation of detailed programmes, progress reports, and stakeholder presentations. * Contract Stage Planning: Ensure planning aligns with commercial strategies and contributes to project success. * Critical Path Analysis: Monitor and advise on critical path activities, implementing corrective actions as needed. * Resource Management: Plan and manage labour, equipment, and materials effectively. * Subcontractor Oversight: Manage planning aspects of subcontractor and supplier contracts. * Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs, analyse deviations, and support data-driven decision-making. * Team Development: Lead training and development initiatives within the planning function. Skills & Experience Required * Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities. * Communication: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. * Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor planning teams. * Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Time Location software, and Microsoft Office Suite. * Construction Expertise: In-depth knowledge of construction project management and change management processes. * Scheduling Mastery: Demonstrated experience in developing and managing complex project schedules. * Risk Management: Proficient in TRA, QSRA, and other risk assessment methodologies. * Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, cost estimation, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
