Job Title: Plant Fitter – Heavy Machinery
Location: Newport
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 depending on quals and experience (Overtime Available)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week + overtime available
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Plant Fitter to join our team, working on the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy plant machinery used in construction or industrial operations.
You’ll be based on-site / workshop and play a vital role in keeping our fleet of heavy plant equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out routine servicing, fault-finding, and repairs on a range of heavy plant machinery
*
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults quickly and effectively
*
Undertake both planned maintenance and emergency repairs
*
Ensure all work is carried out to health and safety standards
*
Maintain accurate service records and complete job sheets
*
Liaise with site teams to prioritise urgent breakdowns and minimise downtime
What We’re Looking For
*
Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Heavy Equipment Technician, or similar role
*
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
*
NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (or time-served experience)
*
Ability to work independently or as part of a teamBefore You Apply
