Plant Manager - Groundwork Subcontractor
Bedfordshire Based
£45,000 - £60,000 + Benefits
About the Opportunity:
Based at our client’s head office in Bedfordshire, you will be tasked with the complete control of their plant and machinery while on and off sites in and around London.
The successful applicant will report to the director of the business and will be responsible for overseeing the transport, procurement and management of all the plant within the business (from small tools to large excavators). This will involve daily communication with sites, organising plant movements on and off projects around the country.
As this is an expanding business, your role will only grow, so future opportunities are available for those with aspirations to develop.
About the Company:
This position will be based at our client's head office in Bedfordshire. The business currently turns over in excess of £150 million per annum, and has a reputation for a modern and quality-focused approach. They have live projects with a variety of the top house-builders in the UK and have a full pipeline secured for 2026.
Having met the directors of the business, I can confidently say this groundwork contractor is looking to stand out from their competition, harnessing innovation, a fresh brand image, and a focus on being the best at what they do. I have heard this not only from people who work at this company, but also from people who work for several of the main competitors!
About the Requirements:
To be considered, all applicants must have worked in a Plant Management position before. Ideal applicants will have worked in this role for a rival groundwork subcontractor in the UK, but we will also consider individuals with good experience in this position from other types of construction businesses in the UK.
Outside of this, the requirements relate to what any growing business would want: People who are committed to a long-term role and have held stable periods of employment in their previous roles. People who are keen to work as part of a team. And individuals who can demonstrate the ability to self-manage while also overseeing others.
About the Benefits:
As a starting salary, I am looking to consider anyone looking to earn anywhere from £45,000 to £60,000 per annum. This is a rough salary bracket we have been given by the client. In addition to basic wage, things like a company van, pension and similar will be on offer.
How to Apply:
I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or face to face in a fully confidential manner (you can get to know me while I get to know you). And I know this is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.
Alternatively, it would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV / details until we have discussed the role in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.
