Orbital Recruitment are currently looking for Plant Operatives for a well-known client in the Charlton area of London SE10
Job Opportunity: Cement and Aggregate Plant Operatives (night shift)
Are you hands-on, safety-conscious, and ready to be part of a team that powers construction and infrastructure? We’re looking for a Plant Operative to join our busy Cement and Aggregate Plant — where hard work meets rewarding results.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Operating crushing, screening, and batching equipment safely and efficiently.
* Carrying out daily plant checks, basic maintenance, and quality inspections.
* Handling raw materials like sand, gravel, and cement using mobile plant machinery (e.g. loading shovel).
* Monitoring production processes to ensure consistent material quality.
* Keeping accurate records of production and reporting any faults or issues.
* Maintaining site cleanliness and ensuring all work is carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
* Experience in a hands-on, industrial or plant-based role.
* A strong awareness of health & safety
* Experience working in a quarry, concrete, or aggregate plant.
* Physically fit and willing to work in a dusty, outdoor environment.
* A team player with a positive and reliable attitude.
* Loading Shovel ticket
Shift Pattern:
* Monday to Friday 1600 – 0200

Salary:
* £40,000 - £42,000 per annum depending on experience
