Plant Operator - Biomass
Altera Recruitment Group is in search for a Plant Operator to join a cutting-edge biomass power facility.
The Plant Operator candidate will play a key role in maintaining continuous plant performance, safety, and efficiency as part of a 24/7 operational team.
Key Responsibilities of a Plant Operator
* Operate, monitor, and control plant systems through SCADA/DCS to ensure consistent and safe performance.
* Conduct regular plant inspections and preventative maintenance checks to identify and resolve operational issues.
* Support the Shift Team Leader with performance monitoring, reporting, and coordination of maintenance activities.
* Manage on-site contractors, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Maintain accurate operational logs, performance records, and ensure plant housekeeping standards are upheld.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience within a process, power generation, or industrial operations environment (e.g., Energy from Waste, Biomass, Chemical, Oil & Gas, or Marine).
* Practical understanding of plant systems such as boilers, turbines, gasification, or steam operations.
* Proficiency in SCADA/DCS monitoring and data interpretation, with strong numeracy and IT skills.
* Ability to perform first-line maintenance and troubleshooting in a high-pressure operational setting.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a proactive, safety-first approach to work.
