Job Description

Kingston Barnes is currently recruiting for a Plant Operator for our client in the Dubar area. Our client is a leader in the renewable energy and energy from waste sector. You will be working in a highly technical environment on a rotating shift pattern, and you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the facility.

As a Plant Operator, you’ll support the Shift Team Leader and the wider operations team to maximise plant availability and carry out front-line maintenance when required

The Role:

  * Perform plant checks, monitor equipment, and ensure machinery operates at optimal performance.

  * Maintain accurate shift logs and carry out effective shift handovers.

  * Operate machinery and mobile plant safely and professionally.

  * Supervise unloading of essential plant consumables (Lime, Carbon, Ammonia, etc.).

  * Operate overhead cranes, weighbridges, and automated systems.

  * Support shutdown activities and conduct routine maintenance tasks.

  * Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards.

  * Report incidents and maintain compliance with company procedures.

The shifts are 12-hour shifts (06:00–18:00 / 18:00–06:00). Repeating 5-week cycle:

  * Week 1: 2 days, 2 nights

  * Week 2: 2 days, 3 nights

  * Week 3: 3 days, 2 nights

Followed by 12 consecutive days off

About you:

  * Experience in a process, heavy industry, or waste environment.

  * Understanding of process/factory machinery.

  * Experience operating mobile plant.

  * Exposure to CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)

  * Strong communication (written and verbal)

  * Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office).

  * Self-motivated, resilient, and a proactive team player.

  * GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

  * Full UK Driving Licence.

  * Forklift Licence (Desirable)
