Plant Operator
Bridgwater | £33-35k | 12-Hour Shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) | 5-Week Rota | Permanent
Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Plant Operator for a state-of-the-art energy-from-waste facility in Bridgwater. This role involves maintaining and operating plant systems, including working in a computer-based control room to monitor and control operations.
Key Duties:
Perform routine plant tests and checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
Collect and record data on plant operations to maintain accurate records.
Report any non-conformances to the relevant teams and take necessary actions to resolve issues.
Operate the main boiler and turbine to maintain steam and electricity generation.
Conduct comprehensive shift handovers.
Assist in the operation of other plant systems as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an energy or waste management facility.
Knowledge of plant operations and general maintenance procedures.
Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Familiarity with computer-based control systems is preferred.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and comfortable working at heights.
