Job Description
A1 Jobs have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Plater to join our client’s team at a leading steelworks business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with heavy steel components and structural steel fabrications. You will be responsible for reading technical drawings, marking out, cutting, and assembling metal plates into structures as per specifications.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Plater or Steel Fabricator in a heavy industrial or steelworks environment
* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
* Skilled in marking out, cutting, forming, and assembling steel components
* Competency in using various hand and power tools
* Familiarity with industry safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE)
* Physically fit and able to handle heavy materials
* Relevant trade qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding or equivalent) preferred
