Tempest Resourcing is seeking compassionate and dedicated support staff to work within exceptional SEN schools in Croydon, supporting pupils with PMLD (Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties), ASD (Autism), and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

About the Role
You'll be joining specialist classrooms where learning is sensory, nurturing, creative, and highly individualised. Pupils may have communication challenges, mobility needs, significant learning delays, or require personal care-but they also bring incredible personality, curiosity, and potential.
You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalised learning plans that support communication, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
Your Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with PMLD, ASD, or SLD
Support sensory learning, attention-building routines, and communication tools (PECS, Makaton, AAC)
Engage in therapeutic activities such as sensory stories, physiotherapy programmes, and outdoor learning
Assist with hoisting, mobility support, and personal care when required
Help create a predictable, nurturing environment with a focus on structure and emotional regulation
Celebrate progress-whether it's eye contact, a new sound, a smile, or a step forward in independenceWe're Looking For Someone Who Is…
Experienced in SEN, care, therapy, youth work, or a similar field
Calm, empathetic, and able to build trust with pupils who learn differently
Confident supporting non-verbal communication and sensory needs
Resilient and adaptable in a dynamic, sometimes challenging environment
