Are you passionate about supporting children with severe learning and physical disabilities? We are seeking a caring and skilled PMLD Specialist to join our Primary School ALN (Additional Learning Needs) team. This role involves working closely with pupils who have profound and multiple learning disabilities, supporting them 1:1 and in small groups.
About the role:
You will provide tailored support for children with severe learning and physical disabilities, including essential personal care such as feeding, changing, and assisting with mobility. Your role is vital in helping these pupils access learning and participate fully in school life.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities
Provide personal care including feeding, toileting, and changing with dignity and professionalism
Assist pupils with mobility and positioning as required
Support access to the curriculum within ALN classes, adapting activities to individual needs
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support each child’s development
Monitor and communicate pupil progress and needs
Essential Requirements:
Experience supporting children with severe learning and physical disabilities
Confidence and sensitivity in providing personal care and physical support
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs, care, or related fields
Training in safeguarding, health & safety, and manual handling

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
