Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist SEND school in Leicester to recruit an experienced and compassionate PMLD Teacher. This is a full-time temporary supply role to cover a staff absence.
The school provides outstanding education for pupils aged 11 to 19 with a wide range of special educational needs. This particular role is to teach a Key Stage 3 class of pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). All students have significant and complex needs, including physical disabilities, medical needs, and sensory impairments, and require high levels of support and personal care.
The Role:
Teaching a Key Stage 3 PMLD class within a well-resourced specialist SEND school
Full-time role: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 3.30 pm (part-time is not an option for this role)
Delivering highly differentiated and sensory-based lessons tailored to each pupil's individual learning and medical needs
Working closely with a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and medical staff
Leading a small class team, including experienced teaching assistants and personal care staffThe Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold QTS or QTLS with proven experience teaching pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties
Be confident in using a range of sensory approaches to engage pupils with complex needs
Have experience working with pupils who require personal care, postural support, and the use of specialist equipment
Be skilled in working collaboratively with healthcare and therapy professionals
Be calm, patient, emotionally resilient, and able to respond flexibly to pupils' changing needs
Have a strong understanding of EHCPs, personalised learning, and inclusive educationThe School:
