Uniform Education is recruiting a dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Uxbridge. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment where pupils with complex needs receive highly personalised support.
About the Role:
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 or small-group basis, helping them access a sensory-based curriculum
*
Use systems such as PECS, Makaton, and visual supports to aid communication
*
Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement through structured routines and positive reinforcement
*
Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility as required
*
Apply your manual handling training to ensure safe support for pupils with physical needs
*
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to support pupils’ EHCP targets
What We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD or complex SEN needs
*
Manual handling training (essential)
*
A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting pupils
*
Confidence in using sensory and communication strategies
*
Willingness to support with personal care and physical needs
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills
*
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)Before You Apply
