Uniform Education is seeking a committed PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team in Northwood. The school provides a safe, structured, and inclusive setting where pupils with complex needs receive personalised support to help them thrive.
About the Role:
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with PMLD, helping them access adapted learning and daily activities
*
Deliver sensory activities and use structured routines to support engagement
*
Use communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, and visual supports
*
Encourage independence, social interaction, and confidence through positive reinforcement
*
Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required
*
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to achieve pupils’ EHCP targets
What We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD or complex SEN needs
*
A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting learning and wellbeing
*
Confidence in using sensory and communication strategies
*
Willingness to support with personal care and physical needs
*
Strong teamwork and communication skills
*
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)Before You Apply
