Job Title: Port Operative
Location: Immingham
Shift: Night Shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
Pay: £12.21 - 15.07 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team as Night Shift Port Operative. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of port activities during the night, including cargo handling, equipment' operation, and maintaining safety standards.
The Job Roles:
Working as a stevedore to ensure the safe discharge of cargo
Undertaking slinger banksman duties
Operating plant and machinery as required
Vessels include break bulk and bulk
General quayside dutiesKey Responsibilities:
Load and unload cargo from ships, trucks, and containers.
Operate port machinery and equipment safely (training provided where necessary).
Inspect and secure cargo to prevent damage or loss.
Follow all health and safety procedures.
Work efficiently to meet deadlines and support the overall flow of operations.Requirements:
Previous experience in a port, warehouse, or logistics environment preferred (but not essential).
Physically fit and able to handle manual work.
Comfortable working outdoors and at night in varying weather conditions.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict safety procedures.
Drivers licence is preferred but not mandatory unless plant driving.
