About the Development Finance Portfolio Manager Role
As Senior Portfolio Manager, you’ll take full ownership of a loan book, managing development and bridging loans from start to finish. The role is eclectic, combining portfolio management, hands-on site visits, and mentoring junior team members. You’ll be exposed to senior management and directors, influencing processes and helping shape the business as it grows.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a full portfolio of development finance and bridging loans, overseeing drawdowns, redemptions, and borrower relationships.
* Conduct site visits (once or twice a week on average) and liaise directly with developers, surveyors & contractors
* Apply hands-on property and development knowledge to reduce reliance on monitoring surveyors.
* Stabilise impaired cases and enforce personal guarantees where required.
* Drive process improvements and support the rollout of new loan management systems.
* Mentor and guide junior Portfolio Managers to foster a strong team culture.
Skills & Experience
* Proven track record managing a full loan book in Development Finance.
* Background in surveying, quantity surveying, construction, or site management is advantageous.
* Confident managing relationships with developers, contractors, and other property professionals.
* Process-driven with the ability to implement improvements as the business scales.
* Dynamic, ambitious, and ready to grow into a leadership role.
* Previous team management experience desirable but not essential.
Package & Benefits
* Salary: c.£80,000
* Holidays: 25 days per year
* Office-based in London, with flexibility for site visits once or twice a week
