Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier depending on availability) Equitas are working with a supportive specialist provision in the Salford area seeking an experienced and passionate Post 16 Lead Teacher to join their senior leadership team. This is a rewarding opportunity to lead and coordinate bespoke education for students aged 16+ with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who are unable to access mainstream Post 16 education. About the Role: * Lead and manage the Post 16 provision, designing and delivering creative and personalised educational programmes. * Teach core subjects (English and Maths to Foundation GCSE level) alongside occupational and life skills. * Line-manage a small team of dedicated teaching assistants, ensuring high-quality support and promoting their wellbeing. * Monitor academic and personal progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse needs. * Work closely with parents, carers, external agencies, colleges and other professionals to provide holistic support. * Ensure safeguarding, attendance, and wellbeing policies are upheld to the highest standard. * Promote a nurturing, respectful and inclusive learning environment within a community-based setting. The Ideal Candidate Will: * Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working with learners with SEMH needs, ideally at Post 16 level. * Be a strong team player and inspiring leader with experience managing staff. * Understand trauma-informed practice, attachment theory and behavioural psychology. * Be able to build effective, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people and professionals across services. * Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a car with business insurance (essential due to the nature of the role). Key Responsibilities: * Develop and oversee bespoke curriculum pathways and progress tracking systems. * Liaise regularly with SLT, local colleges, safeguarding teams, and external partners. * Organise and participate in EHCP reviews and contribute to school self-evaluation and development. * Plan and lead enrichment activities including sports, practical skills and life development. * Actively support whole-school improvement as part of the senior leadership team. What You’ll Get: * A leadership role with autonomy and creativity. * A highly supportive SLT and working environment. * Opportunities for further CPD and professional development. * A chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people in need of an alternative to mainstream education
