We are currently seeking an experienced mentor to support a Year 13 student who requires sensitive, adult‑to‑adult mentoring focused on post‑16 pathways, emotional wellbeing, and confidence building.
This young person is experiencing moderate depression, anxiety, autistic burnout, and emotional dysregulation, which has impacted his ability to attend school consistently and manage day‑to‑day functioning (including sleep, eating, self‑care, and emotional regulation). He is motivated to move forward and is particularly interested in further study via online routes, such as the Open University, but would benefit from guidance around different pathways and next steps.
Key Focus of the Role:
Mentoring and emotional support (not classroom teaching)
Exploring post‑16 options and future pathways
Building confidence, routine, and independence
Supporting regulation and wellbeing in a calm, respectful way
Working at his pace, with reduced hours initiallyImportant Considerations:
This young person is very sensitive to being treated like a child - he has no cognitive delays and must be treated as an equal and as a young adult
Information should be shared slowly and clearly, allowing time for processing

Hours: 1 hour per day
Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Timing: Afternoons
