Job Description

Senior Power Electronics Engineer – Wales – Complex Drives & Controls Are you a Power Electronics Engineer who wants to work on everything from 100W to 500kW? Want to get hands-on with Silicon Carbide, digital control systems, and cutting-edge testing facilities, all while working for one of the biggest names in motor and drive tech? I’m working with a global engineering powerhouse that designs and manufactures electric motors and integrated control systems used across a range of industries: renewable energy, industrial automation, mining, air purification... basically anywhere there’s a motor driving a system. Their tech is now being picked up by automotive and transport clients too, so there’s plenty of variety and room to grow. They’re looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join the team at their flagship site in Wales. You’d be involved in everything from initial concept through to final test, and will design both low and high-power systems using the latest power semi tech. You’ll be responsible for: * Full lifecycle design of power electronics hardware * Working on critical power components and analogue/digital circuits * Making sure designs meet EMC and safety regs * Building prototypes, testing, iterating, improving * Supporting and mentoring junior engineers (if that’s your thing) What they’re looking for: * A degree in Electronics (or something similar) * Industrial experience in power electronics * Strong understanding of topologies, switching devices, and control methods * Someone comfortable experimenting, building, and testing * A genuine interest in emerging tech and pushing boundaries They’ve got a brilliant setup, including a custom-built testing facility on site, a genuinely collaborative team, and a real mix of projects to get stuck into. You won’t be pigeonholeed; you’ll work across a broad spectrum of products and sectors.
