Anderson Knight is delighted to be partnering with a well-respected and growing business in Glasgow to recruit a Part-Qualified Assistant Accountant.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to a varied workload while continuing to develop their technical accounting knowledge and progress towards a professional qualification. Key Responsibilities

  * Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports for a varied portfolio of clients

  * Support the preparation of year-end accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards

  * Prepare and review bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations.

  * Assist with bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate financial records for clients

  * Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns

  * Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes

  * Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for accounts production

  * Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and resolve accounting queries

  * Provide support during audit assignments where required

  * Assist senior members of the team with financial analysis and client reporting

  * Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards

The Ideal Candidate

  * Studying towards ACCA/CIMA Professional Qualification

  * Previous experience within a professional environment

  * Working knowledge of accounts preparation and financial reporting principles

  * Experience preparing reconciliations and supporting client accounting requirements

  * Good understanding of VAT

  * Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cloud-based accounting software

  * Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

  * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

  * Proactive and professional approach with a willingness to learn and develop

  * Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues

  * Experience working with a varied client portfolio would be advantageous but is not essential
