Job Description
A well-established firm of accountants based in Harrogate is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their friendly and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong bookkeeping skills and a working knowledge of Xero to play a key role in supporting clients across a range of sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality bookkeeping services, maintaining accurate financial records using Xero, and assisting with year-end accounts preparation. The role offers a varied and interesting workload within a supportive practice environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for a range of clients
Using Xero to manage and reconcile accounts
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Assisting in the preparation of year-end accounts
Communicating with clients to resolve queries and ensure accurate record-keeping
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice
Proficiency with Xero accounting software
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
A professional and approachable manner when dealing with clients
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
