Practice Manager - Family Help / Community Team London Borough of Redbridge Salary: £56,646 - £58,692 per annum + £3,000 Recruitment & Retention Bonus Contract: Permanent | Full-time - 37 hours per week Location: Family Help Hubs / Community Team, Redbridge The Role Redbridge Council is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead a team within the Family Help Service. This is a key operational role, providing oversight and support to social workers and family support staff delivering early help, targeted intervention, and safeguarding support to vulnerable children and families. You will manage day-to-day operations, supervise staff, support complex casework, and ensure that high-quality, child-centred services are delivered in line with statutory requirements and local practice standards. Key Responsibilities Provide professional supervision, guidance, and performance management to a team of practitioners. Oversee and quality-assure assessments, plans, and interventions. Allocate cases and manage service priorities to meet the needs of children and families. Monitor team performance and contribute to audits, reviews, and service planning. Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to ensure coordinated and effective support. Support staff development, reflective practice, and continuous improvement. Represent the service at internal and external meetings, including safeguarding and legal forums. Requirements Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England. Significant post-qualifying experience in children's services, including supervisory or management responsibilities. Strong understanding of early help, statutory frameworks, and child safeguarding. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
