Pre-Construction Manager – Cut & Carve | Central & West London
Are you an experienced Pre-Construction Manager with a passion for complex structural refurbishments and cut & carve projects? A leading construction contractor is looking to expand its pre-construction team with a driven professional who thrives in technically demanding environments.
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected Tier 2 contractor renowned for delivering high-quality cut and carve, structural alteration, and refurbishment projects across Central London. The role will be based between our West London head office and Central London sites, so flexibility and willingness to travel across both is essential.
You’ll play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase, working closely with the bid and planning teams, temporary works designers, and project stakeholders to develop innovative, cost-effective, and buildable solutions. Your input will help shape the success of technically challenging schemes from early client engagement through to contract award.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the pre-construction planning and methodology for cut & carve, structural alteration, and heavy refurbishment projects
*
Develop and coordinate logistics plans, phasing strategies, and temporary works requirements
*
Work collaboratively with estimators, design teams, and construction leads to assess feasibility and risk
*
Engage with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners during the pre-contract phase
*
Ensure compliance with health & safety best practices and buildability reviews
*
Attend site visits and liaise with on-site teams to ensure accurate planning input
About You:
*
Proven experience in pre-construction for structural refurbishment, cut & carve, or complex temporary works
*
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, buildability, and logistics in inner-city environments
*
Able to interpret technical drawings and structural methodologies confidently
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
*
Comfortable working from both West London head office and project sites in Central London
