We are working with a leading private healthcare provider to recruit an experienced and dedicated Pre-Operative Assessment Sister to join their Ward team in Hemel Hempstead. The Role
As Pre-Operative Assessment Sister, your responsibilities will include:

Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Pre-Operative Assessment Department.
*
Ensuring patients are thoroughly assessed, prepared, and informed for their procedures.
*
Maintaining high standards of safe, effective, evidence-based care aligned with the NMC Code and local/national standards.
*
Leading, developing, and continuously improving the pre-operative service.
*
Supporting quality governance frameworks and standards.
This is a 37.5-hour week role on a 7-day rota, including weekends and bank holidays, with flexibility to meet operational requirements.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:

Registered Nurse with completed Pre-Operative Assessment (POA) course/module.
*
Proven experience in pre-operative assessment and managing patient care pathways.
*
Significant senior clinical experience with team leadership responsibilities, including supervising nurses and HCAs.
*
Strong ability to motivate teams, manage performance, and drive service improvement.
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
*
Ability to make sound clinical judgments, resolve complex issues, and adapt to changing situations.
