I’m recruiting for a pivotal role within the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), where we’re proud to be delivering part of one of the UK’s most important infrastructure projects - Sizewell C.
We’re looking for a Prefabrication Deputy Package Manager - Ramps to join us at the Avonmouth Hub in Bristol, where you’ll help deliver a series of large-scale offshore concrete structures that form a key part of the Sizewell C Marine and Tunnel works. These are major assets - each weighing over 1,000 tonnes - and will be prefabricated with absolute precision before their final installation.
This is a senior, hands-on position that demands a strong technical background, excellent organisational ability and a deep understanding of complex civil works. You’ll be supporting and deputising for the Prefabrication Package Manager, leading the successful design, procurement, construction, and logistics of the “Ramps” prefabricated elements. It’s a role that sits at the centre of delivery, safety and innovation.
Key Accountabilities:
Lead the end-to-end management of the prefabrication package at the Avonmouth Hub, ensuring programme, cost, and quality targets are met.
Oversee coordination between multiple subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams, maintaining strict control over interfaces, scope and sequencing.
Monitor and manage progress on site, chairing regular meetings to assess safety, productivity, buildability, and risk.
Collaborate with commercial, procurement and planning teams to support tender review, equipment supply and contract execution.
Provide specialist input into inspection and test plans, technical approvals and compliance with BS/EN standards.
Review drawings and methodologies to ensure buildability, sequencing and safety standards are achieved.
Drive the culture of safety and quality excellence - both in-house and across all contractor teams - supporting the project’s nuclear-level assurance and standards.
Help embed lean practices and automated methods of construction where possible to improve efficiency and outcomes.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
A solid background in managing the delivery of heavy civil works, ideally with experience in large-scale prefabrication or infrastructure projects with stringent safety and quality standards.
Experience working in complex environments, coordinating across multiple workstreams and interfaces.
Strong project management capabilities with the ability to oversee cost, risk, schedule, and change control.
Demonstrated experience in both self-delivery and managing subcontractor performance.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, able to drive progress, resolve issues and build strong, collaborative working relationships.
A proactive mindset with a sharp focus on safety, quality, and delivery performance.
Qualifications & Certifications:
SMSTS
CITB HS&E Test for Managers and Professionals
TWCTS (desirable)
Strong familiarity with UK construction standards and compliance requirements
This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute to the delivery of Sizewell C - a new 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station that will supply low-carbon energy to 6 million homes for generations to come. The project will set new benchmarks in sustainability, engineering, and innovation.
