🏕️ About the Role
You'll lead a small team responsible for the smooth running of two distinct sites:
A green and spacious activity centre with halls and outdoor facilities, tucked away in a leafy part of North London and easily accessible by public transport.
A modern urban venue offering flexible meeting spaces and halls, located on a lively high street.Your responsibilities will span:
🔐 Safety & Compliance
Ensure all Health & Safety standards are met (fire safety, chemical storage, electrical inspections).
Maintain up-to-date records and provide monthly reports to Trustees.
Ensure staff and volunteers receive appropriate training (e.g. fire warden, first aid).🛠️ Maintenance & Operations
Oversee accessibility and functionality of heating, mechanical, and other systems.
Schedule and manage regular maintenance.
Carry out minor repairs and upkeep as needed.📣 Promotion & Bookings
Manage bookings, invoicing, and advertising to attract users.
Support visiting groups and ensure facilities are ready and welcoming.💰 Financial Management
Prepare budgets in consultation with Trustees.
Provide monthly narrative reports on site performance.🛡️ Security
Act as keyholder and ensure access is restricted to authorised individuals.
Respond to emergencies such as break-ins or fires.🎯 What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Knowledge
Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
Practical knowledge in building maintenance, heating systems, plumbing, or electrical work.Essential Experience
Proven experience in site and project management.
Budget preparation and financial reporting.
Hands-on building maintenance.
Line management and leadership.Desirable Experience
Working with young people and volunteers.
Familiarity with Scouting or similar youth organisations.Personal Skills
Excellent communication (written and verbal).
Competence with Google Workspace and basic digital tools.
Ability to handle manual tasks and respond to emergencies.
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.💼 Salary & Benefits
Salary: £37,500 - £47,500 (negotiable for exceptional candidates)
Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary through performance-linked scheme
