Press Brake Operator / Setter
Location: Needham Market, Suffolk
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000 a year
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Press Brake Operator / Setter to join our clients manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to bend, form, or straighten metal sheets and plates according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate CNC or manual press brake machines in accordance with job specifications
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
• Select appropriate tooling and ensure correct machine settings for each job
• Perform routine quality checks on completed parts to ensure they meet required standards
• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed
• Perform basic maintenance of machinery, including cleaning and lubrication
• Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain a clean working environment
• Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production targets and deadlines
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a press brake operator and/or setter
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering plans
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometres
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Awareness of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment
