Job Description
Contek Recruitment are currently working with a well-established engineering company based in Oldham. Due to company growth, they are now looking for a Press Shop Leader to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Our client has been operating for over 30 years, and serve a couple of specialist industries.
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday (07:45am until 17:00pm) and Friday (07:30am until 14:00pm) - Overtime is available and paid at time-and-a-third.
Pay: £32,000 - £35,000 per year, dependent on experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Setting up and operating a range of power presses, including 6x mechanical presses and 1x hydraulic press, ranging from 50 tonne to 300 tonne.
* Swapping out tools.
* Perform routine inspections and maintenance on presses to ensure optimal performance.
* Monitor production quality and troubleshoot issues. Collaborate with the production team to maintain high standards and meet production targets
* Overseeing the other Press Setter in the department.
* Keeping the work area clean and tidy, in line with health and safety standards.
Requirements:
* Proven experience setting and operating power presses.
* Knowledge of health & safety procedures and press regulations.
* Ability to read technical drawings and follow work instructions.
* Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
