Job Description

Our client, a well-established and actively expanding Lloyd's Syndicate Insurance firm, is seeking a Pricing Analyst with prior Insurance Industry experience. THE ROLE: * Take a key role in delivering the company’s business and pricing plans to help achieve financial targets. * Work on developing pricing models and provide valuable analysis to support the management of schemes and broker relationships across multiple products, while contributing to the overall pricing cycle and related initiatives. * Bring in and apply advanced modelling techniques and data science approaches as needed for specific projects. * Collaborate closely with teams across the business to make full use of available expertise and resources in meeting financial goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Apply advanced actuarial methods and data science approaches to create new pricing and sub-pricing models, as well as improve existing ones. * Partner with other business areas to ensure any pricing changes align with the product’s objectives and desired outcomes. * Analyse data to track and assess product performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement. * Deliver activities within agreed deadlines and to a high standard to keep the pricing delivery plan on schedule. * Work alongside Pricing Management to ensure all work supports both the Pricing Strategy and broader business goals. * Contribute to the development of management information (MI) and reporting processes within the Pricing team. * Assist in building a strong price change control process, and support the Deployment Team in designing and running effective testing to improve deployment accuracy and understand associated risks. * Help design, maintain, and enhance pricing databases to improve data quality and strengthen analytical insights, including sourcing and integrating new data sets into the business. * Identify and report any data integrity issues through the proper channels. * Continuously grow skills through on-the-job learning, industry events, online training, and other external learning opportunities, while staying informed on the latest developments in data science and pricing methods both inside and outside the insurance sector. * Follow all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, along with the company’s pricing governance standards. SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Previous Insurance industry experience is essential * Ability to analyse data for the purposes of effective Loss Ratio Pricing amongst other areas. * Skilled in analysing data to support effective loss ratio pricing and related areas. * Experience working with large, complex datasets and applying structured analytical methods. * Commercially minded, using business insight to help improve overall profitability. * Play a role in managing the financial performance of a varied portfolio of products in a fast-moving, competitive market. * Proficient in at least one key data manipulation or programming tool, such as R, Python, SAS, EMBlem, RADAR, Excel/VBA, or SQL Server. * Able to present large and complex datasets clearly through effective visualisations, using dashboard tools such as Power BI. * Logical and methodical, with the ability to develop and evaluate multiple solutions to a problem. * Creative and forward-thinking in identifying opportunities to refine and enhance processes
