Location: Peacehaven
Salary: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you someone who stays calm under pressure and believes every child deserves to succeed, no matter their background or behaviour?
GSL Education are seeking a resilient and compassionate Primary Behaviour Mentor to join a nurturing school community in Peacehaven.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support primary-aged pupils who present with challenging behaviour and social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs. You will work 1:1 and in small groups to help them re-engage with learning, build trust, and develop strategies for positive behaviour.
Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to pupils displaying disruptive or challenging behaviour.
Build positive relationships and act as a trusted adult within the school environment.
Assist in the implementation of individual behaviour support plans.
Promote emotional regulation and model appropriate responses to frustration or conflict.
Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor progress and plan interventions.
Encourage a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges or SEMH needs.
Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour support.
Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
