Behaviour Support Assistant – Sheffield
Make a real difference where it counts
Are you calm under pressure? Brilliant at building trust? Ready to be a positive force for pupils who need it most?
We’re looking for a confident, compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work with students aged 4–10 who have SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. This role is all about resilience, creativity, and stepping in when things get tough—and making things better.
This isn’t your typical classroom role. You’ll be outdoors, active, and hands-on—helping children re-engage through sport, structure, and trust.
This sounds like you if you…
• Have experience working with challenging behaviour or disengaged pupils
• Can stay cool and supportive during meltdowns or conflict
• Know how to de-escalate situations and set strong boundaries
• Have a background in sport, outdoor education, or youth work (bonus!)
• Can commit to Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm
You’ll be doing things like:
• Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
• Building positive routines and helping kids feel safe and understood
• Encouraging learning through activity and movement
• Being a reliable role model, every single day
• Working closely with class teachers and behaviour teams
