Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our specialist school in Southwark, working with pupils aged 5-11 with Autism (ASC) and additional learning needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, helping them develop both academically and socially in a supportive, structured environment. We welcome applications from both experienced SEND teachers and mainstream teachers who are looking to transition into special education—full training and ongoing support will be provided. What We Are Looking For: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (Essential). * A passion for working with young people with Autism (ASC) and complex needs. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families. * A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning. * A commitment to promoting inclusion and independence for all learners. * Willingness to undertake training in Autism-specific strategies and communication approaches (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, Makaton). Responsibilities * Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students. * Foster a positive learning environment through effective communication and behavior management strategies. * Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support their development. * Collaborate with colleagues and parents to enhance the educational experience. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of early childhood education practices and adhere to QTS standards.
