About the Role: You will be supporting children across KS1 and KS2 who require additional emotional support and behavioural guidance. Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team, your role will be to promote stability, build resilience, and help pupils re-engage with their learning in a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and group-based support for pupils with SEMH needs, tailored to their specific emotional and behavioural challenges. Build trusting relationships through patience, empathy, and consistency. Assist in delivering personalised interventions and behaviour plans. Maintain a calm and structured learning environment to help reduce anxiety and support focus. Support emotional regulation strategies using restorative and therapeutic approaches. Work collaboratively with staff and external professionals to ensure a joined-up approach. Monitor and report pupil progress and well-being to relevant stakeholders. Requirements for the role: Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural difficulties, ideally within a primary school setting. A strong understanding of trauma-informed approaches and emotional regulation techniques. Resilience, compassion, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Support or equivalent) are advantageous. Team Teach or other de-escalation training (desirable but not essential). Commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable pupils. Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education).
