GSL Education are currently recruiting a caring and committed Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Chesterfield. This is a full time role that offers opportunities to provide vital behavioural and emotional support to primary-aged children.
As a Primary SEMH TA, your responsibilities will include:
Delivering one-to-one and small group support tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.
Assisting in the implementation of behaviour management plans and personalised learning strategies.
Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social skills development.
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet individual needs.
Maintaining detailed records to support progress monitoring.
Promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
Skills & Requirements for Primary SEMH TA:
Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, preferably in a primary school setting.
Full UK driving licence with business insurance is essential.
Strong communication skills, patience, and resilience.
A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
