Key Details: Primary Special Needs Assistant
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Contract: Fixed term for one academic year (with potential to transition to permanent staff)
Pay: £425 to £550 per week (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Responsibilities: Primary Special Needs Assistant
Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with autism and complex needs
Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and life skills development
Support students in managing sensory, communication, and behavioural challenges
Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure each student progresses
Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements: Primary Special Needs Assistant
Experience working with children or young people with autism and complex needs
Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting diverse learners
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive, resilient, and adaptable attitude
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Desirable: Primary Special Needs Assistant
Knowledge of autism-specific strategies, such as TEACCH, PECS, or sensory integration techniques
Experience in a special needs school or educational setting
