Job Description
A vibrant and inclusive Special Needs Primary School, seeking a highly motivated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a huge difference in the lives of primary-aged children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with ASD and PMLD, adapting your approach to meet their individual needs.

Assist in the implementation of personalised Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs), behaviour support plans, and therapy programmes.
*
Support students with their communication and interaction, using a range of strategies such as Makaton, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), and other alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) methods.
*
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging social interaction and participation in all school activities.
*
Prepare and adapt learning resources to make them accessible and engaging for students with a range of abilities.
*
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to each child's development.
