SEMH Primary Teacher Needed!
Teaching Personnel are working with a well-established, DfE-registered independent day school in the Wisbech area, seeking a Primary Teacher. The co-ed school supports up to 50 students aged 7–17 with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, offering personalised, nurturing education to re-engage learners who’ve struggled in previous settings.
Position Details:
Age Group: Key Stage 1/2
Support: You will have the support of two full-time Teaching Assistants in the classroom
Responsibilities: Planning and delivering engaging lessons, marking, attending meetings, and contributing to the wider school community
Experience: Prior experience working with SEMH students is highly desirable
As a Primary Teacher in this SEMH setting, you will play a key role in helping students build trust, develop emotional resilience, and engage positively in their learning. The class sizes are small, and the school places a strong emphasis on personalised support, making it an ideal environment for teachers who are passionate about inclusive education.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience or interest in working with children with SEMH needs
Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing, empathetic approach
Ability to plan and adapt lessons to meet individual needs
A collaborative attitude and willingness to be part of a supportive team
