Vision for Education are looking for an enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant in Barrow-in-Furness to join one of our partner primary schools. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference supporting pupils with additional needs in a nurturing and welcoming environment.
The Role
We are seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant in Barrow-in-Furness to provide 1:1 support to pupils in Year 2 and Year 4 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to ensure that each pupil receives the targeted support they need to thrive academically and socially. Previous experience of working with children with additional needs in a school setting is desirable, but not essential.
This Primary Teaching Assistant role in Barrow-in-Furness is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible and continuing until Christmas 2025, initially covering a long-term sickness absence. There is strong potential for the role to extend into January 2026 depending on the school’s needs.
You will be supporting pupils both within the classroom and through focused intervention sessions, helping them to access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop key learning and social skills.
