Responsibilities
As a Principal Acoustic Consultant, you will:
Lead and deliver complex, high-profile projects with precision and expertise.
Provide technical leadership, including acoustic modelling, design, and analysis.
Oversee quality assurance, ensuring projects meet the highest standards.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
Mentor and develop junior consultants, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
Contribute to the consultancy's strategic growth by engaging with stakeholders and identifying new opportunities.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you'll need:
8+ years' experience in acoustic consultancy, with proven leadership capabilities.
Expertise in building acoustics, sound insulation, and planning support.
Comprehensive knowledge of BB93, BS8233, and relevant national planning policies.
A track record of successful project delivery and client management.
Proficiency in software such as ODEON, CadnaA, or SoundPLAN.
Chartered status (or working towards it) with the Institute of Acoustics (IOA).
A full UK driving licence.
Day-to-Day
Your typical day will involve:
Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to define project goals and deliverables.
Conducting detailed acoustic modelling and analysis to develop innovative solutions.
Leading project teams, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
Reviewing and approving technical reports and designs.
Mentoring junior team members, sharing your expertise to help them grow.
Identifying opportunities for business development and contributing to strategic planning.
