Job Description

Are you an experienced early years leader with a proven track record of managing multiple nursery settings? We're seeking a dedicated Principal Advisor for Early Years to oversee and drive excellence across our group of nurseries. This is a pivotal leadership role offering a blend of strategic direction and hands-on operational support. Working with a North London Local Authority you will: Provide consistent, high-quality leadership across multiple nursery settings. Drive continuous improvement in line with Ofsted and EYFS standards. Support nursery managers with guidance, coaching, and operational oversight. Lead on serious safeguarding matters and ensure compliance with statutory frameworks. Maintain Ofsted readiness and action planning post-inspections. Address urgent issues such as staffing, incidents, or complaints efficiently. Manage nursery budgets and ensure financial sustainability. Balance staffing and funding to maintain quality and cost-effectiveness. Foster clear, open communication with parents, carers, staff, and internal stakeholders. Represent the nurseries at council meetings and key external forums. What We're Looking For Proven experience in managing multiple nursery settings or within a multi-site early years role. Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, EYFS, and safeguarding requirements. Excellent leadership, mentoring, and people management skills. A strategic thinker who can balance quality provision with operational efficiency. Confident communicator, comfortable representing the service externally. Flexible Working This is a hybrid role, primarily home-based, with regular travel to nurseries and periodic attendance at head office or stakeholder meetings as required. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
