About the Division
The Water Utilities Division is the centre of excellence for tackling the UK and Ireland's water and wastewater challenges. The division plays a key role in safeguarding water supplies, preventing urban flooding, and improving the health of rivers and coastal environments.
Their multi-disciplinary teams deliver services across the full project lifecycle - from advisory and feasibility studies through to outline and detailed design. This creates technically stimulating opportunities while ensuring clients receive best-in-class solutions.
The Role
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Principal or Associate Wastewater Network Modeller to join their national wastewater modelling team. With recent success in securing multiple AMP8 Frameworks, continued collaboration with Scottish Water, and input into international projects, this is a diverse and rewarding role where you will have the chance to lead, shape, and influence.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in wastewater modelling, motivated to take on a leadership role, and enthusiastic about mentoring others. You will provide both technical direction and project leadership, with the scope to influence modelling strategy and represent the business in client-facing situations.
Key Responsibilities
Leading flood alleviation, environmental studies and Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) projects
Managing model build, model maintenance, and verification projects
Developing survey specifications
Preparing and reviewing reports, presentations, and deliverables produced by junior staff
Supervising and mentoring colleagues, supporting professional growth and development
Representing the company in client meetings, workshops, and business development activities
Driving continuous improvement in technical quality and project delivery
Supporting bidding opportunities through technical and commercial inputDepending on experience, responsibilities may also include:
Project management, including resourcing, budgeting, and programme management
Line management of colleagues

Candidate Profile
Essential:
Proven experience in model build, verification, and solution development
Strong track record in managing projects, leading teams, and developing people
Expertise in InfoWorks ICM and GIS packages
Excellent communication skills - able to clearly present technical discussions to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to check and assure the quality of others' work, driving continuous improvement
Relevant degree or vocational qualification
Chartered with a relevant professional body (ICE, CIWEM, or equivalent experience)Desirable:
Demonstrable experience in the UK water industry
Programming knowledge in FME, VBA, Ruby, or Python (advantageous but not essential)
Experience working across multi-disciplinary teams
Project management experience or skills
