Job Title: Principal Civil Engineer Ref. No.: CJD1312D25 Location: Based near Glasgow Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 This is a brilliant opportunity to join my client, a trusted, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a new office location in stunning Scotland. Renowned for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are currently searching for a capable, enthusiastic Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to win, manage, and successfully deliver a number of challenging projects. You will have a genuine hand in building and leading a newly-established team of design engineers, based near the lively, artsy city of Glasgow. Benefits for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include (but are not limited to): - Highly-competitive salary - Employee Pension Scheme - Generous annual leave allowance - Dedication to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with genuine career progression opportunities - Working on an array of exciting infrastructure projects across the local region and beyond - Proactively influencing the development and future of the company Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include: Overseeing an array of exciting projects and developments Leading the day-to-day running of projects at all stages of the process, from inception through to successful delivery and implementation Providing mentorship and support to colleagues throughout their careers, overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Building and maintaining important professional relations with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors Preparing, checking, and submitting reports, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and other technical documents Subscribing to company policies, procedures, and best practice Enforcing the appropriate health and safety standards at all times Contributing to the company's business development strategies, acting as a trusted representative at client meetings, site visits, etc. Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include: A UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering Possess Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE) Extensive experience in a design role, within a consultancy setting Demonstrable experience of working with infrastructure (particularly drainage and highways), housing developments, and energy projects Experience of earthworks design and drainage network modelling Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, etc.) Considerable experience of writing, checking, and amending reports and other technical documents for submission Prior experience of leading people and projects within the sector Experience of managing client and stakeholder relations Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Hold a full, valid UK driving licence Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include: A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments Experience of preparing Transport Assessments Experience of working in a public-facing role If you are interested in the role of Principal Civil Engineer, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
