Job Description
Our client is a leading civil infrastructure contractor, delivering innovative, safe, and efficient engineering solutions across major projects. They are seeking a Principal Design Engineer, based in Watford to take ownership of temporary works and scaffold design, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.
What you’ll do:
Lead the design and delivery of temporary works and scaffold solutions on high-profile civil infrastructure projects.
Ensure all designs meet safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with project teams to develop practical and innovative engineering solutions.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical excellence.What we’re looking for:
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or actively pursuing it.
Proven experience in scaffold and temporary works design, with strong knowledge of TG20:21, SG4:22, and BS EN 12811.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis tools such as STAAD Pro or Tekla Tedds.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, CDM regulations, and on-site constraints.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
