Key Responsibilities:
Developing and delivering a strategic approach to harbour repairs, with a budget of over £100m for the next decade
Leading the Head of Engineering function within the City Docks, ensuring efficient, safe, and effective operations
Providing professional and practical expertise as well as strategic direction on all engineering and dredging matters
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and EMAS/ISO14001 standards within the City Docks
Managing and delivering all identified and programmed Docks engineering projects within associated budgets
Overseeing the effective management and development of capital programmes and budgets within the Docks Engineering Team
Undertaking duties to ensure the effective functioning of all City Docks machinery, equipment, and infrastructure
Leading, recruiting, procuring, and motivating a team and contractors to meet and deliver approved objectives
Controlling and defining tasks, duties, and work programmes for staff and contractors while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
Planning, delivering, and managing allocated capital work and revenue programmes within set timeframes and budgets
Job Requirements:
Experience in Docker technology
Knowledge of highway infrastructure
An understanding of managing harbour or dock infrastructure projects
Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations and EMAS/ISO14001 standards
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent project planning and delivery capabilities
Effective communication and organisational skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
