Job Description

Would you like to work in Birmingham for a market leading Civil Engineering Consultancy who specialise in infrastructure designs for residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial and holiday parks across the UK?

If you have drainage and infrastructure design experience and are keen to develop your own team then this could be the role for you!

This exciting Principal Drainage Engineering opportunity will offer you the chance to grow a team and complete varied residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and holiday parks across the UK 

You will join an experienced team based across midlands and have the chance to grow and support the team and complete multiple projects from pre planning to construction phases for both Private and Public Sector Clients.  

As a Principal Drainage Engineer you will be expected to complete; 

Flood Risk Assessments.

Surface Water Management Plans.

Drainage Strategies. 

Drainage Design for mixed use developments using infodrainage and causeway flow. 

Detailed designs for residential developments in respect of S278, S38, S104 and S106. 

Access road design for housing developments.  

Highway drainage design. 

Project management of multiple projects. 

Mentor and support team members, checking technical designs.  

Liaise with Clients to discuss project development and design clashes. 

Develop new business opportunities with new and existing Clients.

As a Principal Drainage Engineer you are required to have a background in civil engineering and have experience working for a UK based Consultancy specialising in drainage designs for residential, commercial and industrial developments including access roads and highway drainage.  

Experience completing flood risk assessments and surface water management plans is also required.  

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential and you will be required to liaise with Clients to discuss project projects and provide technical support to staff, when needed.  You will also be required to develop new business opportunities and grow the existing team, providing training when needed.
