Principal Electrical Engineer / Manager – Data Centres
London, UK | 💼 Permanent | Hybrid Working (3 days office / 2 days home) | Highly Competitive Package
We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer / Manager to join a leading consultancy delivering major Data Centre projects across London and Europe. This is a senior role with the opportunity to lead complex mission-critical facilities and mentor a talented engineering team.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading electrical design and delivery for large-scale data centre projects
Managing and mentoring teams of 3–10 engineers (local and international)
Overseeing projects from concept through to construction and commissioning
Driving quality and best practice in mission-critical electrical systems
Engaging directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
Providing technical expertise in LV/HV systems, UPS, generators, and resilience strategiesWhat we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent vocational training with experience)
6–15 years’ experience in building services electrical engineering
Proven mission-critical design experience (data centres, clean tech, telecoms)
Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent professional registration)
Strong technical expertise in HV/MV and LV systems, UPS, AC/DC, and switchgear
Proficiency with tools such as Revit, Autocad, Amtech, Dialux, SKM, ETAP, or Easypower
Strong communication skills with ability to build relationships at all levels
Organised, proactive, and capable of managing deadlines, budgets, and risk
Passion for mentoring and supporting team growth
