Principal Electrical Design Engineer
Contract role

Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold an MEng, BEng, or equivalent accredited degree in Electrical Engineering and possess a minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience, including working National Grid projects at 400KV / High Voltage. This role requires a deep understanding of working with tier 1 and 2 contractors within the design and build environment. The successful candidate will be experienced in National Grid system design for energy and infrastructure projects, specifically in electricity transmission and distribution
Skills:
MEng, BEng, or equivalent accredited degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience on National Grid projects at 400KV
Strong understanding of tier 1 and 2 contractors and construction environments.
Experience in National Grid system design for energy/infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of either HV substations, cable systems, and overhead lines.
Ability to manage and oversee design projects from concept to completion.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Certifications & Standards:
Chartered Engineer status (preferred)
Knowledge of British Standards and National Grid proceduresBefore You Apply
