A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy in the South West is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing Devon team. What We’re Looking For:
Degree-qualified in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Chartered or working towards CEng status with a recognised institution (e.g., IET, CIBSE)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical building services design
Proficient with software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, NES, Cymap, and MS Office
Commercially aware, confident, and client-facing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Full UK driving licence
Key Responsibilities:
Lead electrical design across a variety of building projects
Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, fostering technical growth
Act as a primary contact for clients, consultants, and project teams
Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and contract documentation
Ensure designs comply with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
Support project planning, budgeting, and fee proposals
Contribute to business development and client relationship management
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, legislation, and best practices
