They are on the lookout for a capable, enthusiastic Principal Flood Risk Assessor committed to working alongside an already-established team of designers and hydrologists at the office based in the green, characterful town of Hemel Hempstead. Benefits for the role of Principal Flood Risk Assessor include (but are not limited to): Highly-competitive salary Company pension scheme Generous annual leave entitlement Opportunities for flexible/hybrid working A focus on Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with extensive career progression opportunities An inclusive, collaborative, innovative working environment A focus on employees' mental, physical, and social wellbeing Responsibilities for the role of Principal Flood Risk Assessor include: Managing technical tender submissions, including Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), drainage assessment reports, and others Preparing, checking, and submitting reports, calculations, models, and other technical documents Taking ownership of projects, taking the lead with resources, budgets, timeframes, and delivery/implementation Managing client and other stakeholder relations, across the public and private sectors Overseeing the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of design-based colleagues Identifying Business Development (BD) opportunities, and working to develop these Enforcing and upholding the relevant industry standards, processes, procedures, and legislation at all times Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Flood Risk Assessor include: A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Management, or a similar, relevant discipline Possess Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., CIWEM) Extensive experience of working in a Flood Risk role, within a UK-based design consultancy setting Highly proficient in the use of several relevant software systems, including FEH, WINFAP FEH, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and WinDES Experience of leading projects and people, at all stages of the process Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Flood Risk Assessor include: A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline Highly competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) If you are interested in the role of Principal Flood Risk Assessor, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
