Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire (DN1)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Contract: Until 1 February 2027
Pay Rate: £38.13 – £41.92 per hour + holiday pay
We're recruiting for an experienced Principal Planning Officer to join a busy local authority planning team.
This role involves managing a caseload of major planning applications, providing specialist planning advice, engaging with developers, contributing to planning policy, supporting enforcement, and representing the Council where required.
### Essential Requirements
RTPI-accredited planning qualification (or equivalent)
Full RTPI membership (or working towards it)
Significant Local Authority planning experience
Experience dealing with major planning applications
Excellent report writing, negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
### Compliance Requirements
2 years' referencing (all employment gaps verified)
Photographic ID
Right to Work in the UK
